PA (nylon) 3D printing
Nylon (PA) is the plastic for parts that work hard: gears, bushings, hinges and clips that flex thousands of times. It is very tough, resists wear, oil and petrol, and takes more heat than PETG. It absorbs moisture, so we dry it before printing.

What it is good for
- Gears and pulleys
- Bushings and sliding guides
- Hinges and clips with many cycles
- Parts in contact with oil or petrol
When not to use it
- Parts that must be very stiff (use PA-CF)
- Very tight dimensions in humid environments
- Food contact
PA (nylon) vs PETG: Compared with PETG: tougher and far more resistant to wear and heat, but more expensive and sensitive to moisture. See PETG →
